logosmall1   The short game

action9

Did you know 60-65% of all golf shots occur inside 100 yards of the hole!

43% Putting 13% pitch shots 9% bunker shots/chip shots/recoveries etc

Putting, chipping, pitching and bunker play are without doubt the hardest to master yet when learned can be the most rewarding. By increasing your creative skills and awareness around the greens the door will open to what is truly achievable inside each and every one of us.

Practicing all the hours is not enough but practicing the correct technique IS imperative as this allows you to control the spin - once you have mastered the spin, distance control, visualization and imagination can then be used to great effect.

In my opinion, the 5 most important principles in the short game are

  • Pre-swing set up
  • Compression
  • Distance control
  • Measurability (are we improving?)

60% of my practice revolves round the short game - that's from 120 yards and in. How long do you spend on your short game? I consider this aspect of the game to give me the biggest return.

Throughout the year, I'll be running a series of short game clinics which will cover all aspects of the short game - details will be posted on my Blog. If you're interested in finding out more information, please contact me direct.
